Calabasas, CA and New York, NY - Longtail Studios and Emergent Game Technologies announced
today a multiple game licensing deal to use Emergent's groundbreaking development engine,
Gamebryo LightSpeed. The first game to be developed and published under this agreement is
Dance on Broadway for Wii which is launching in North America on June 15, 2010. The other
in-development titles have not yet been announced but are planned for multiple console platforms.
Published by Ubisoft, Dance on Broadway brings all the richness and fun of the most beloved
musicals directly to fans' living rooms, allowing up to four people to live out their Broadway
dreams working through choreographed routines for some of Broadway's top tunes, from "Fame" to "
Time Warp" from Rocky Horror Picture Show.
"We are a diverse developer, continually working on different platforms and genres of gameplay.
We need an engine that is versatile and flexible to meet our evolving needs and Emergent provides
that with Gamebryo and LightSpeed," said Sandeep Bisla, Technical Director, Longtail Studios. "We
upgraded to LightSpeed mid project and it was a great choice, helping us quickly achieve our goals.
Its upgraded features helped us speed up production further and allowed us to focus more on the game,
rather than building engine-related components we needed for the game."
